In early March 2020, yet another valuable life was taken from this earth, and much like George Floyd it was at the hands of the police.
Here, above, I linked a video by Now This News.
(Yes, I know that I tag them a lot, but they are a really good source).
This video breaks down Breonna's case.
What makes me furious about this incident is not only did she not do anything wrong or anything to get shot but also, why did the police fire so many bullets? I believe it said 25 shots were fired in response to the ONE shot that was fired by her BOYFRIEND, not her.
Why does a no-knock search warrant even exist? I mean, I understand the purpose, but I also understand how easily the police can be mistaken for an intruder.
Honestly, I think it was an honest misunderstanding on the behalf of the boyfriend, Kenneth Walker's part and then the police overreacted, responding as if it were a shoot out, but only one bullet was fired. Personally, I don't think Kenneth Walker should get much (if any) jail time if he didn't hurt anybody, but that's just me.
Breonna, she didn't do s*** and she was killed!!!!!!!!!! I know for a fact that there have been MANY cases like hers where the police overkill and it is so hard to prove that it is racism that drove the police to shoot so many times, but I really do not see any other excuse to shoot so many times.
I also think Breonna's murder did NOT get enough attention in the media. This KEEPS happening over again. The police keep killing innocent people like Breonna by shooting an unnecessary amount of bullets.
I like this video because it points out that racism might not have been strictly on the scene, but could have also followed them into the courtroom. The attorney in the video even asked, "Does the second amendment apply to African-Americans?" If it doesn't, it certainly should.
It is 2020 and this is America, "The land of the free"...Supposedly.
